Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah Continues To Show Social Awareness With The Responsible Business

The Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah hosted the second Can Collection Drive in Sharjah on 07th May 2011 wherein a total of 552 Kilogram of cans was collected. The Can Collection Drive is an annual event organized by the Emirates Environmental Group Dubai. The hotel has been supporting the event since 2004. After the success of the first Can Collection Drive on February this year, the Emirates Environmental Group decided to have it again on May 2011 which is indeed another achievement for the organization.
In line with this, the Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah is now preparing for more responsible activities for the coming months. On June 2011, the hotel will start using recycled papers in offices and for internal printouts. To celebrate the Holy month of Ramadan, the hotel is planning to have an Iftar Party for the Staff and a Charity Iftar with Sharjah Community in August 2011.
After the successful Responsible Activities done by the hotel, same activities were planned for the coming months such as Blood Donation Drive in October 2011, Tree Planting in November 2011, Walk to Work Campaign, and Clean Up UAE Campaign which were both planned during the winter season in December 2011.

Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah Welcomes New Rooms Division Manager And Executive Sous Chef

The Radisson Blu Resort Sharjah is proud to welcome Mr. Ahmed Freiwan as the new Rooms Division Manager and Mr. Murat Kalkandelen as the new Executive Sous Chef.
Ahmed, a Jordanian National with a solid background in Rooms’ Division Operations, started his career with the Rezidor group in the year 1998 in Aqaba, Jordan and then moved to Radisson Blu Hotel Muscat in 2000 as Night Manager. He then joined the opening team of Radisson Blu Dubai Media City in 2005 as Front Office Manager. After two years with the hotel, he moved to Radisson Blu Dubai Marina Residence and joined the opening team as Operations Manager.
In 2009, he moved to Radisson Blu Al Mahary Hotel in Tripoli joining the team as Rooms Division Manager. Ahmed is also holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Languages from Yarmuk University in Jordan.
Murat, a Turkish national, has more than 14 years of extensive international experience in the hospitality industry which includes assignments in Kempinski and Hyatt Hotels in many different locations such as UAE, Turkey, Italy and France.
