Abu Dhabi: Lawyers in Abu Dhabi pledge to offer free legal services against anyone who causes an offense to the UAE, its leaders, citizens, or national security.
Councilor Faiza Mousa, organiser of a lawyers' assembly in Abu Dhabi last Sunday, told Gulf News the move is to "express our love, pride and allegiance to our country, our leadership and our shaikhs."
"We, the lawyers in Abu Dhabi, believe that those who call themselves ‘activists' and try to incite others against our leadership and our government are therefore creating unnecessary civil unrest and [are attempting] to destabilise the country," Mousa said.
"We lawyers undertake to be ready to assume and adopt all cases which citizens of the UAE want to lodge before the courts against anyone who thinks of causing harm to our state, our leaders our citizens and our national security," Mousa said.
