Business Development Manager ? Fugro MAPSThe Business Development Manager forms part of the executive team and is responsible for leading the business development group to successfully promoting and expanding the business. In particular the roles include managing the commercial functions of Fugro MAPS, including, but not limited to, tenders, contracts and contract negotiations and project implementation in accordance with the Fugro MAPS strategy and established financial and budgetary parameters. The Business Development Manager will be based in Sharjah, UAE but will be involved in developing projects throughout the GCC countries and Africa. Opportunities will primarily focus on airborne surveys, satellite imagery and GIS but the individual will be expected to promote all Fugro products as needed. The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Managing Director of Fugro MAPS.Client Liaison and maintenance of client databaseEvaluate market trends in the industry, including process, new technology and intelligence on the competitionManage the entire contract administration processCo-ordinate Fugro MAPS Marketing activities and promotional paraphernalia Exploit Business Development opportunities in the regionEnsure Safety issues and required parameters are included in contracts to ensure compliance at the time of project executionManage process of complex project plan preparationCoordinate with other Fugro companies as required for multi-OPCO initiatives. Minimum 5 years commercial background, of which at least 3 years has been spent in management of a commercial department within the geospatial industry. A degree in the field of geospatial studies would be an asset. Additional qualifications include:· Excellent Presentation and delivery skills · Experience in preparing and submitting proposals, negotiating with prospective clients and winning of bids in competitive environments.· Effective negotiation skills with technical and non-technical clients and employees· Interpret new and complex tenders, contracts, specifications, procedures and understand their technical and commercial implications· Edit proposals prepared by others, emphasizing Fugro’s strengths and added value within the Region, and Globally, depending on context· Commercial acumen such that anticipation of issues, delays and unusual items for inclusion in detailed project costing occurs · Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and cope under pressure· Communication skills and conflict management skillsSound knowledge of contractual and legal matters, particularly specific to this regionFugro MAPS offers a challenging vibrant multi-cultural working environment, a tax free benefit package, with major worldwide opportunities and challenges.
