Garbage afloat at abra station

When Gulf News reader Prasad Babu Veera visited Al Seef Abra Station in Dubai, he was shocked.

The reader said: “I went along with my eight-year-old daughter. When we reached the area, we found a great deal of waste and leftovers floating in the water. My daughter asked me why didn’t people throw their waste in dustbins instead, and couldn’t they just walk up to the nearest bin? She also asked me what would happen if any fish or marine animal ate the waste. I didn’t know what to tell her. I urge people using the abra and water buses to please remember that the water contains living creatures. Please wait till you reach the next station and use dustbins located there.”

The reader is an accountant, based in Dubai.
