Initiative to develop generation of social entrepreneurs launched

Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Group for Corporate Social Responsibility has launched a new initiative under the name "Social Entrepreneurs".
The initiative aims to build a generation of young entrepreneurs and enable them to participate actively in the social and economic development.
The initiative envisions the adoption of social projects that are economically feasible in the areas of health, education, environment, culture and volunteer work in accordance with the legal framework adopted in the chambers of commerce and industry as community companies .
Awareness
A group of experts in the field of business and specialists in the area of corporate social responsibility will supervise the initiative to propagate the culture of community investment and increase business awareness among the youth and motivate them to invest in socially responsible projects.
Dr Adel Al Shameri, founder and chief executive of the Social Entrepreneurs Foundation, said the initiative is the first of its kind in the Arab world and aims to build a generation of young entrepreneurs and to enable them to participate actively in the process of social and economic development.
Emirates Group for Corporate Social Responsibility has a vision to entrench a culture of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in institutions across the UAE and activate private sector participation in community development in various areas.
