Dubai: Al Hamriya and Al Rashidiya central markets are set to be developed, providing upgraded facilities for traders and shoppers.
After conducting field studies of both markets, improvements were decided upon in line with the environmental, economic and administrative requirements demanded by urban development in the emirate.
Al Hamriya market is already being developed, with the installation of air conditioning in public corridors and other improvements.
Maintenance work for public service areas and extension of the front of the market is also being undertaken.
The total construction area after the development is 289,000 square feet and completion is expected in November.
Al Rashidiya central market — located in the centre of a residential area — will include a commercial centre.
This will be enhanced with the addition of four quick service stores and a larger car park.
The project is due to be completed in October this year. Once completed the facilities will improve the shopping experience.
