Dubai: Dubai Police has urged the public to add Blackberry pin 27875985 to their contacts to communicate with the police and receive messages and updates.
The allocation of special Blackberry pin for the public comes in line with instructions by Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, to use this modern technology to deliver messages about awareness campaigns.
Captain Saleh Abdul Rahman Al Saleh, Acting Director of Security Awareness, said the service attracted over 1,100 subscribers since it was launched three days ago.
The step would serve the strategic goals of Dubai Police on spreading security awareness in the community by delivering messages about the various campaigns, the first of which was the traffic safety campaign ‘Commit', which was launched on Sunday with the aim of reducing minor accidents, Capt Al Saleh said.
