No respite from hot weather in UAE: forecasters

Al Ain: Weather forecasters see no respite from the current sizzling hot conditions across the emirates in the next several days.

With mercury shooting up to mid-40s, forecasters rate the weather as very harsh for all living beings, particularly in cities and towns surrounding by desert such as Al Ain, Liwa, and Suweihan. The human comfort index in these areas has been dropped down to extreme levels.

"When temperature hit 45 degree centigrade mark, human body feels it around 48c. Environmental factors like sands, continuous sunshine, hot winds, and concrete and metallic structures further compound the severity," said a meteorologist.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said the weather will be hot to hot during the daytime on Wednesday. Conditions would be hazy at time in some internal areas.

Some low clouds are likely to appear over some eastern areas by afternoon and towering clouds over the mountains. They are, however, expected to have least impact on the conditions.

According to the NCMS, winds would be moderately rough. This could lead to blowing dust and sand in interior and western areas. The sea will also be slightly to moderately rough.
