Abu Dhabi: The Civil Defence of Al Bateen Centre responded to put out a fire yesterday at 1.50pm in a 16-storey building.
The central air conditioning unit on the roof of the Al Saqr building on Al Nasr street in Abu Dhabi caught fire. The Civil Defence put out the fire in ten minutes.
The fire resulted in the suffocation of a person "who was transported to Shaikh Khalifa Medical City to continue his treatment after getting first aid at the scene," said Colonel Juma Al Dahmani, acting director general of the Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi.
